The Gurupoornima (a most significant and auspicious occasion of full moon- night) of 2007 far many reasons was a memorable night. After so many years a Guru or mentor was greeted with heart fells reverential devotion. The Art Journal: Rangsandhan had organized a festival to pay devotional tributes to the most accomplished art prodigy Ms. Mrinalini Sarabhai. Emotions ran high when His Highness the Governor of Madhya Pradesh Dr. Balram Jakhar graced of occasion with his dynamic presence. Dr. Balram Jakhar issued three exclusive editions of Rangsandhan Art Journal devoted to Ms. Mrinalini Sarabahi. These journals were named as "Mahanayeka", "Natrani" and "Nrityangana". Aashi Manohar presented a dramatic recitation of his poem "Sabarmati Tat Ke Ghungroo" on which the dance guru Mallika Sarabhai presented a scintillating emotive dance performance. His Excellency The Governor Dr. Balram Jakhar, Ms. Mrinalini Sarabahi, Dr. Mallika Sarabahi and Aashi Manohar spoke their heart to the dignitaries and the art lovers present there. The speeches were centered on the significance and value inherent in arts, how the arts can may a major part in establishing peace, harmony, respect to the Gurus and general well being of the people. The songs of love and thoughts of hatred. The entire Festival was conceived and executed as to emit a sense of intimacy, informality and grace. As this occasion a serious discussion was held raising concerns how some art institution have fallen a prey to the political interference and curruption and to these institutions are losing their credibility. At the same time all those present there gave emphasis on the idea to establish the power of truth. The guests were warmly greeted by Smt. Veenu Manohar, Dr. Rajni Pandey, Dr. Papiya Dasgupta and Shri Piyush Saxena. Towards the end of the programme Aashi Manohar profusely thanked his own family which provided to him an uninterrupted support through all thick and thin situations and helped in keeping the flame alive to continue this art journey in the times to come. The success of the programme was credited to the meaningful cooperation extended by Ms. Mohib Ahmed, Ms. Neelam Tiwari, Dhirendra Raj, Chaitanya Chandan, Munnalal Pal, Hitesh and Manan Manohar. Dr. Mallika Sarabahi clicked the inangural keys for launching of a website of Rangsandhan.
